Gordon Perry Gallery
Gordon Perry has been interested in photography since his youth. Some of his early work involved photographing railroads and industrial machinery as well as serving as photograper for his high school yearbook and newspaper. After purchasing his first 35mm SLR camera, Gordon concentrated on close-up photograpy of flowers. While in college, his work centered on photomicrography of biological materials and he also worked in photographic retailing.
His wife,
Jean, has encouraged him to exhibit his photographs along with her artwork in various shows, galleries and small museums. As a Professor of Biological Sciences with a specialty in plant pathology and zoology at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Gordon has developed and taught numerous courses and his photographic work focused on the scientific aspect. Since coordinating ideas with Jean, Gordon has found a new approach from a creative view.
His photographs of nature and historical scenes have won him numerous awards and his work may be found in many publications and private collections. Most recently, one of his photographs was selected for the cover of the Embarq 2009 telephone directory. Gordon won 2nd place with his photograph "Along the Tracks" at the 62nd Annual Competition of the Palmerton Camera Club Salon Exhibit in March 2009.
