WC ARTS MEMBER GALLERY - Joan Winter
Joan Winter, of Califon NJ has been painting for over 30 years. She has work on display at "Le Reve Gallery" in Chester NJ, "Take 121 Arts" in Nashville TN and "Vintner's Circle" in Hackettstown, NJ.
2007- Joan had a one-person exhibit at Bouras Gallery in Summit NJ and was a guest artist at Metuchen Artworks Gallery.
2008- Joan had a two-month solo exhibit at the Johnson and Johnson World Headquarters Building as part of the New Jersey Artists Series, in addition to an exhibition in the Washington Township Library in Long Valley NJ.
2009- Joan has paintings on exhibit at Mt Kemble Gallery in the Atlantic Rehabilitation Institute in Morristown, NJ.
Joan has an MA in painting from New York University and also studied painting and grphics at Pratt Gaduate School in Brooklyn. Her strongest influences are the expressionist and symbolist painters. Her artistic development reflects both academic and self-training. She paints from life, direct-obsevation, fantasy and photographs using oil, watercolor, acrylic or gouache. Her paintings are symbolic impressions of her subjects. Favorite subjects are those that include people and flowers.
